DGR had a particularly close relationship with his aunt Charlotte Lydia Polidori (1802-1890), who helped him and his work in numerous ways during the 1850s in particular. This lovely drawing was made in July 1853 for Christina; at the end of September of that year he was occupied with the oil portrait that he gave to his grandfather Gaetano.
