Editorial Description: WMR's note
- When my hushed heart weighs heavily—
- My brain lies fixed and cold,
- When the changes are all ended which
- The Earth had on me rolled,
- Will utter torpor bind me
- And total darkness blind me,
- Or will illusions still sweep past
- As they were wont of old.
- Shall I feel if some friend lift my hand
-
10And wet it with a tear,
- As thoughts press on—how that same hand
- [blank] his with friendly cheer
- Shall i feel them pass by death
- With mute step and timid breath;
- Or, be merely spotted by the shades
