WMR read the poem in September 1849 (see Fredeman, The P.R.B. Journal 13) and
thought he might review it at the time. From the review it is clear
that WMR was interested in the work because of the way it tries to marry
a modern subject with certain types of stylistic archaisms.
Cayley's poem is written in the manner of Byron's Don Juan.
