Fredeman . . .considers the two panels in his possession, representing The Well of Love and Goblin Market, illustrations of Christina Rossetti's poems, may be by [Arthur] Hughes; in my opinion they are more probably by D. G. Rossetti” (see also the stained glass for The Well of Love, which illustrates a text from the Roman de la Rose, not from DGR's sister; Sewter, 75).
