‘“Hist!”, Said Kate the Queen’ (Head of Maid)

In his discussion of the DGR's ‘“Hist!”, Said Kate the Queen’ , H.C. Marillier described a remnant of the original canvas depicting the head of a maid, then located in the collection of William Michael Rossetti. This picture is now lost, and known only in reproduction ( DGR: An Illustrated Memorial , 34).
