DGR designed a sofa for himself in 1861. It made a series of oval designs for a sofa for himself. Marillier described three as bearing the titles “Amor, Amans, Amata” and remarks that they decorated the back of the sofa, with the front decorated in six oval encircled heads (see

). The sofa eventually passed into the possession of Fairfax Murray, and is now in the Fitzwilliam Museum, in Cambridge. DGR's designs for two sofas are extant: the “Egyptian” sofa and a rough sketch for another sofa, which could possibly be associated with this piece of furniture.
