Hampstead from my window — Sight — 8 7/8 x 5 3/8 / Madox=Brown frame — outside moulding, 1 1/8 — reeded. with bosses as in Water Willow frame, / Gilt wood mat 2 1/2 wide all round = making (8 5/8 + 2 1/2 + 1 1/8) 15 7/8 x () 12 5/8 — Outside / mat feat — beveled to picture = no inside bead, as on Water Willow .

Editorial Description: Inscribed in pencil along top verso. “2 1/2” has another “2 1/2” situated directly underneath it. Likewise, “1 1/8” has another “1 1/8” beneath it. Inside the parentheses (), is a vertical list of five numbers: 5 3/8; 2 1/2; 1 1/8; 2 1/2; 1 1/8. ”
