DGR sent this drawing in a letter to Mrs. Morris of 14 August 1869 with the following comment: “I suppose Topsy is roaring and screaming through the Parnassian tunnels and junctions in his usual style now, not without an occasional explosion.. . . Conceive if your cure were now to proceed so rapidly that there remained a glut of surplus baths, and Topsy were induced to express a thanksgiving frame of mind by that act which is next to godliness!”
