Introduction
This sofa design is one of two, and possibly three, that DGR made around 1860-1862. This sofa was built and exhibited at the 1862 International Exhibition. Another sofa, also built to DGR's design, was made for DGR himself and eventually passed into the possession of Fairfax Murray. The latter may be the same sofa for which DGR made a preliminary sketch.
