Ballads and Sonnets (1881), proof Signature Q (Delaware Museum, late corrected printer's proof)

This is an imperfect proof for Signature Q, undated and marked 4a by the printer. It has some printer's corrections as well as a marginal alternate reading (not by DGR), both on page 225. It lacks page 240 and has a duplicate page 226. It is one of four late proofs states among the total number of eleven proof copies of this signature in the Delaware Art Museum library.

Besides this proof, the Delaware Art Museum library has the following proof copies of Signature Q: an author's first proof (corrected, dated 4 May 1881 and numbered 1); three copies of the first revise, author's copy 1, author's copy 2, and an uncorrected copy (all dated 6 May 1881); three copies of the second revise, two with author's corrections ( author's copy 1 and author's copy 2, and a uncorrected copy (all dated 9 May 1881); and four copies of a late proof state (none dated): this printer's copy, a copy with an author's correction; an uncorrected copy; and an uncorrected copy made of uncut sheets. The British Library proofs have another copy (partial) of revise proofs for this signature (dated 28 April).
