Ballads and Sonnets (1881), proof Signature P (Delaware Museum, 9 May proof, copy 2)

This is an incomplete proof for Signature P, dated 9 May and marked 3b by the printer. It carries no corrections. It is one of six proof copies of this signature in the Delaware Art Museum library.

Besides this incomplete proof, the Delaware Art Museum library has the following proof copies of Signature P: the author's first proof (corrected, dated 4 May 1881 and numbered 1a) and a second copy of this first proof, also with some (but fewer) corrections; two uncorrected copies of the first revise, copy 1 and copy 2 (both dated 6 May 1881 and numbered 2a and 2b respectively); and two copies of a subsequent proof, this copy and a complete copy with some printer's alterations (both dated 9 May 1881 and numbered 3b and 3a respectively). The British Library proofs have another (printer's) copy of revise proofs for this signature (undated).
