Ballads and Sonnets (1881), proof Signature O (Delaware Museum, incomplete third revise, author's copy)

This is one of the two author's copies of the third revise for Signature O in the Delaware Art Museum library. This lacks the sheet with pages 195 and 206, the other is a complete proof. Two other (uncorrected) copies of this revise are also in the library. This proof has author revisions at pages 194 and 201, and some printer's markings for improving the text spacing.

Besides this third revise proof copy, the Delaware Art Museum library has the following proof copies of Signature O: the author's first proof (corrected, dated 3 May 1881 and numbered 1); three copies of the first revise, the author's corrected copy, and two uncorrected copies, copy 1 and copy 2 (all dated 6 May 1881 and numbered 2a, 2b, and 2c respectively); two copies of the second revise, the author's corrected copy (dated 9 May 1881 and numbered 3a) and an uncorrected copy (undated and numbered 3b); four copies of the third revise, including this incomplete copy, a complete corrected author's copy , plus two uncorrected copies, uncorrected copy 1 and uncorrected (partial) copy 2, none dated; and an uncorrected and undated copy of the final proof (numbered 5). The British Library proofs have another copy of revise proofs for this signature (dated 3 May).
