Ballads and Sonnets (1881), proof Signature O (Delaware Museum, first author's proof)

This is the author's corrected first proof for Signature O (dated 3 May 1881 and numbered 1 in the Delaware Art Museum library).

Besides this corrected first proof, the Delaware Art Museum library has the following proof copies of Signature O: three copies of the first revise, the author's corrected copy, and two uncorrected copies, copy 1 and copy 2 (all dated 6 May 1881); the author's corrected copy and an uncorrected copy (undated and numbered 3b) of the second revise; four copies of the third revise, including a complete corrected author's copy , an incomplete corrected author's copy , plus two uncorrected copies, uncorrected copy 1 and uncorrected (partial) copy 2 , none dated; and an uncorrected and undated copy of the final proof (numbered 5). The British Library proofs have another copy of revise proofs for this signature (dated 3 May). The latter slightly precedes this copy and hence does not carry all of the corrections called for here.
